1. Who We Are
UI DevTools is a browser extension designed for UI inspection, frontend debugging, and design auditing on webpages selected by the user.
2. Information We Collect
UI DevTools does not collect personally identifiable information such as name, address, email address, phone number, or account credentials through normal use of the extension.
The extension may access website content on the page the user chooses to inspect, only as needed to provide its core functionality. This may include:
- Page structure and visible UI elements
- HTML/CSS-related information required for inspection
- Layout, spacing, and rendered design details
- Links, labels, and page components needed for audit features
UI DevTools does not collect health information, payment information, authentication data, personal messages, or precise location data.
3. How We Use Data
Any webpage content accessed by UI DevTools is used only for the extension’s single purpose:
- Inspecting webpage UI
- Reviewing frontend design implementation
- Supporting debugging and design audit workflows
UI DevTools does not use accessed data for advertising, profiling, analytics unrelated to the extension’s function, or any unrelated secondary purpose.
4. Permissions Used
sidePanel
Used to display the extension’s main interface in Chrome’s side panel while the user inspects a webpage.
activeTab
Used to access the current tab only after the user explicitly activates the extension.
scripting
Used to run packaged inspection logic on the active page so the extension can analyze UI.
Host Permissions
Used so the extension can work on websites the user chooses to inspect across HTTP and HTTPS pages.
5. Data Sharing
UI DevTools does not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties, except where required by law or where necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.
6. Data Storage and Retention
UI DevTools does not permanently store personal data on external servers as part of its normal operation.
Any temporary processing of webpage content happens only to provide the extension’s inspection features. If extension settings or preferences are stored, they are used only to support product functionality.
7. Remote Code
UI DevTools does not use remote code. All JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and assets required for the extension are packaged within the extension itself.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to ensure the extension is designed and maintained in a way that protects user privacy and limits data use strictly to the extension’s single purpose.
9. Children’s Privacy
UI DevTools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product improvements, legal requirements, or policy updates. Any revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
